Sometimes the Wrong Turn is the Right Way Home

Psalms 76:10
Surely your wrath against men brings you praise, and the survivors of your wrath are restrained.

Matthew 6:33
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Psalms 63:1
Oh God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsts for thee, my flesh longs for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is.

Psalms 73:2
But as for me, my feet had almost slipped; I had nearly lost my foothold.

Psalms 34:14
Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

Most of us think we have to walk through life alone, not realizing that God is with us every step of the way. Unfortunately, our stubbornness and hard-headedness gets in our way and prevents us from seeking Him. We have to do everything our way. Most of us have the "it's my way or the highway" attitude. We toss and turn, push and pull trying to navigate through the obstacles and challenges that we are faced with. Our arrogance leads us to believe that we will get out of the whirlwinds that constantly surround us, only to find later that we are going down with the ship. We travel down many roads, take several paths and exhaust every avenue. What do we always end up finding? That during the entire trip, we have been taking the wrong turns. Do you think these wrong turns are coincidence?

Our wrong turns always land us in the middle of a dry and thirsty land where there is no water to drink. We dehydrate our spirits by running around and around only to end up back where we started. We drag ourselves through the mud and the muck searching for the right answer. Finally, when there is no where else to turn, no where else to run, God has us right where He wants us. God wants us to fall down on our knees, stop doing it our way, and surrender to Him. He always allows us to get into these situations where there seems to be no way out. There is no one that can save us, no seminar to tells us what to do, no family member to call and bail us out. We are at the end of the rope and the only alternative is to cry out to God for help. Why does He allow us to get to this point? So that no flesh shall glory in His presence. What does that mean? So that you can't give credit and honor to yourself or any person. So that we can see that God was the only way out of that dilemma and He delivered us out of it just in time. Isn't wonderful that we serve a "just-in-time" God? He knows exactly how to stop us in our tracks, right where we are, and get us to rely on Him. Rest assure that when you finally do decided to give your problems to Him, He will dissolve those problems and you will come out of it more than a conqueror through the Lord Jesus Christ. How do we know this? His word says He will do it and God cannot lie, He cannot change, He is the same today as He was yesterday and He will be the same forever. God is a right now God. He will deliver you from the hands of the adversary, He will set you free from drugs and alcohol, He can open your blind eyes and unstop your deaf ears. He said "I am the Lord that healeth thee." Although we make a mess of our lives, and too often we take the wrong turns in life; when you surrender to God, He will change those wrong turns into the right way home. God is home, He is where you belong and if you trust Him and let Him lead you, you can't make the wrong move.

We have so many opportunities in life to make the wrong turns. The devil is always there waiting for the slightest opening of a door that he can walk in and cause chaos in your life. Some people might say, "the devil ain't bothering me." That's because you don't have anything he wants; if he's not after you, then he already has you tied up. If that's the case, run to the altar and get saved! We are in constant warfare with principalities and the rulers of the world. If we just lay down our lives for the Lord and let Him be our rock and our lamp, we will always be on the right way home! God bless you!
