Worthy of Salvation

1John 4:18
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear.

Isaiah 51:6
Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell there shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be forever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.

Lamentations 3:26
It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.

Hebrews 10:23
Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.

How many times have you been saved? Silly question? Once we decide to give our lives to Jesus Christ, pray the sinners prayer, and ask for forgiveness; we are saved! Yes we fall short because as humans, we are Imperfect People. The moment you place your trust in Christ, he views you as righteous. From this point on, He accepts you, for who you are, as His child. Your sins are no longer counted against you because of God's forgiving love. Sometimes we think we have to keep asking for salvation because we feel like we are not worthy enough to be in the presence of God. 1John 1:9 says "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

We all sin from time to time. We are not perfect. Jesus Christ is the only man that was without sin. The difference is that we no longer practice sin. We feel this way because as humans we like to keep tallies and we remember people's faults and shortcomings. God is not like us. He does not remember us as who we were, instead, we are new creatures in His sight. We made a profession to leave the old life and start a new life with Christ living on the inside of us. Although, at one time, all of us were living in darkness, performing devilish acts, and practicing a life of sin, 1Corinthians 6:11 says, "But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God." Now we have the "Helper", the Holy Spirit, to guide us and to help us keep our feet set on a straight path. We are now children of God and we have set our hearts on obeying His commands and holding tightly to His promises, believing that what He has promised, He is also able to fulfill.

It is sometimes hard to feel worthy of our God. Our worldly minds and worldly nature causes us to stumble. We have an advocate, a high priest at the right hand of God, the Father, wanting to forgive us. All we have to do is ask for it in His name, the name of Jesus. Don't allow fear and doubt to enter into your heart and make you think that you have lost your salvation. Every time someone gets saved the devil tells them, "you aren't saved"; the devil is a liar! You are saved, do not doubt, because God hasn't given us a spirit of fear, but of peace and of a sound mind. God bless you!
