Precious Moments

Psalms 116:15
Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.

Proverbs 8:11
For wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her.

Isaiah 28:16
"See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who trusts will never be dismayed."

Luke 2:29&30
"Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you now dismiss your servant in peace. For my eyes have seen your salvation."

2 Corinthians 7:10
Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.

What do your precious moments consist of? Do you consider the birth of your children a precious moment? What about the day you got married, is that a precious moment? It could be graduation day. For some it may be the first date they had or maybe even a first kiss. For others, their precious moment may have been the first time they got flowers from someone, or the first big deer that was taken. There are several events that people consider to be a precious moment in their lives. What is considered precious to some may not be so precious to other. That's something that is really in the eye of the beholder. There is one event that I think we should all be able to agree that should be the most precious moment in all of our lives......

We should consider the day we received our salvation to be the most precious moment in our lives. As a matter of fact, If it were up to me, we would all celebrate this day as our birthday! Our day of salvation is the day that the old person died and the new person was raised up. This is how we relate to Jesus' experience of death and Resurrection. It is considered the "new birth", why not celebrate that day? Is it not really the most important day of our lives? Someone receiving salvation, being washed in the blood of Jesus, being clothed with righteousness, and having their names written in the Lamb's Book of Life is the most precious moment that could ever take place in a lifetime. How many of you remember the day you got saved? I don't just mean the events of the day, but the actual date? I don't think there many of us that really know the exact date. I ashamed to say that I don't. We really should though.

Salvation is a precious gift that we receive from God. Now that we have received salvation, we are on our way to a life of peace and joy. Our lives are changed forever. We have a comfort and a confidence about us that we did not have before. It is a great felling to know that we have set on the right path and are headed for a wonderful journey with Jesus. We have now become precious to Him. He has lifted us out of the bottomless pit that we have dug for ourselves, being lost in the world. How much do you think that our Lord considers the day of our salvation precious? I bet He celebrates the day that we were saved.

You that are reading this message, you are very precious. Your life of stumbling has been atoned for by the blood of Jesus. He has washed you and made a new creation out of you. You will have many more precious moments in Christ. Keep your feet planted on the right path, the path of peace. Live so that you may become a witness for and a blessing to someone else and create even more precious moments.

You that are reading that do not have Jesus in your life, you are just as precious. God is calling you from among the wolves and He wants you to come into His house and be one of His children. He has been tugging at your heart strings for some time now but you have been resisting. I urge you precious people to surrender today. Don't waste anymore time wandering around when you can be re-created into perfection. Please, pray the Prayer of Faith and Confession and give your life to Him today. We love you!
