Renewing the Mind- Part 2

Mark 4:24
And he sad to them, "pay attention to what you hear: with the measure you use, it will be measured to you, and still more will be added to you."

Measure refers to the attitude with which the word of Jesus is being received. If the listener embraces Jesus' message of the kingdom in a rich and profound way, then still more will be added to you; that is, God will take up residence in that heart and give increased understanding and blessing, both in this age and in the age to come.

Attitude has a whole lot to do with Christianity and renewing the mind. What kind of attitude do you have? I would like for you to think about something. Now that you have moved into this new life, you are an example to others. People you know, your friends and family, they are now going to be looking to you to see what is going to happen. You see, they have all heard of this transformation that has and is taking place in your life and they want to see how it is going to affect you. They want to find out if it is something for them, a chance that is worth their taking. You have to set a good example. Having a good attitude is part of that example.

If you embrace the message of Jesus Christ, you can't help but to have a good attitude. The world will try to put a damper on your good attitude. It's easy, sometimes, for that to happen. Stay strong in your faith. As an example to others, you do not want to look as if becoming a Christian is a bad thing. I have seen Christians in my life that look and act miserable. Truth be known, they probably did not receive the true message of Jesus. If you have learned what Jesus has done and accepted it whole-heartedly, you can't help but to have peace and joy in your life where, before, there was gloom and doom. Hold your head up high, you are part of an elite group. You have been enlisted into God's Army. You are a child of God. You have a reason to be happy and to live a joyous lifestyle.

The text can also be thought of as, you reap what you sow; or, you get back what you put in. That is really how it works with God. You get back as much as you put in. If you invest little, you get little back. If you invest a lot, you get a lot back. You can sit back and wait for God to come to you and hope that He decides to move in your life or you can seek God and stir up His spirit and be a channel of miracles and wonders! Embrace the message of Jesus and the message of faith. Everything that God offers in the Bible is also available to you. The Bible says, "you get not because you ask not." Ask Jesus to move in your life and to allow you to be a warrior and a good example to others. If you can set the example, your friends and family will see what God is doing in your life and they too will want to come in. Renew your mind with a positive and receiving attitude, standing on your faith and the promises of God. Don't be a back seat, sissy, but instead, get out on the front lines and be a soul searcher for Jesus!

Father gives us the ability to put on a Christian face and have a Christian spirit. Allow us to shine in the company of others so that they too will want to partake in your love and glory. Give us the attitude of Christ and allow us to become doers of Your word. Don't allow us to sit on the sidelines and watch but give us courage to put on a new mind and get in the battle! In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
