Conversing with God

Do you find yourself always asking God for something? Do you ever engage in conversation with God? I think most people would say that when they talk to God, they are usually asking for something. God wants us to fully rely on Him. Think about your relationship with your most trusted confidant. Do you only talk to them when you have something to ask for? Of course not. You have normal, confidential conversations. Why not talk to God in that manner as well? He is always there to listen. He is the most trusted friend you could ever have. He will not tell anyone your situation or your problems. Most of us fail to do this. We want God to send the answer but we don't talk to Him about what is going on. When we do decide to pray and talk to God, mostly asking for something in return, we finish and go on about our business. God wants us to talk to him and then let Him talk to us. I suggest that after you are done praying, be silent and still, wait for Him to answer or talk to you. He will talk to you through your thoughts, through your heart, some people have even heard a notable voice. He talks to us a lot through His word. I have had problems or questions and I have went to the Bible. I didn't go to a certain verse or book, I simply opened the Bible randomly and there was the answer right there in black and white. If you don't believe me, then I dare you to try it. God talks to and communicates with His children. You know that voice in your head that keeps telling you to do or not do something? That's God talking to you! You have to be in a personal relationship with God in order to hear His voice. Remember when Jesus said, "my sheep know my voice and a stranger's voice they will not follow"? For most of us, it is almost impossible to carry on a meaningful conversation with someone that we are not in relationship with. Why do you think it would be any different with God? As I mentioned earlier, God wants us to rely on Him completely, 100%! In order to do that, we must go to Him about everything. No matter how big or how small, we should talk to God about it and put it in His hands. It frees the soul to be able to put our problems and our needs in God's hands. He does not make mistakes; although we may not see or understand the answer now, He is doing what is best for us. So from now on, take the time to talk to God and share your day to day life with Him. Most importantly, take the time to listen to God and follow what He is leading you to do. God bless you, Amen.
