The Good of God

Romans 8:28:
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

When we say “good”, what do we mean? We are talking about God conforming our ways to those of Christ. This verse reaffirms that God is working in everything, every situation and circumstance. God takes things that the enemy has planned for evil and He turns those things around and makes them "good". God isn't working these things in order to fulfill our desires but to fulfill His purpose. God acting in our lives for good can only be claimed by those who love Him and have been called by Him. Who is called? Anyone that the Holy Spirit draws into relationship with Christ. Once called by God, we have new mind sets. We trust God in all situations. Although what may be happening at the time is not very pleasant, God is working in that situation for our long-term “good”.

It is vital to remember that God is working all things for His plan, not ours. His ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8).

We, as Christians, can rest assured knowing that God is working in all things. Though we may face hardship, trials, and tribulation, we have Almighty God working a way out of bad situations that we find ourselves facing. The amazing part is He isn't just providing us with a route of escape, He is working the matter out so that we stand victorious. You may be in the midst of a battle today, but keep your head up because there is no defeat for the child of God!
