GOD: Is He there?

Today I heard that there are 5 billion people in the world that do not believe in God! This number was a shocker! I couldn't believe there are that many people that don't believe. I guess that's what Jesus was talking about when He said "narrow is the way that leads to life and few there be that find it"!
When I look around, God seems to be more evident now than He has ever been in my lifetime. I see evidence for His existence all around me. With the education and technology we have at out disposal today, we can see how the Bible has been fulfilled and is still being fulfilled. One of the most amazing facts of proof for me is the fact that King David described crucifixion over 1,000 years before it was invented! In our day, we have the ability to examine DNA and see exactly how complex and unique each individual person is. Quoting David again, he talks about how we are fearfully and wonderfully made, he knew nothing of the complexity of the human body in his time…

The Son's Freedom

John 8:36 states "Who the Son sets free is free indeed" (NIV), Free from what? From sin! If a professed Christian is still living (ie.: being, acting, doing) a life of sin, have they been set free? I would say no, of course not! In Romans 6:14, Paul states "For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace" (NIV). Where does grace come from? Grace comes from God, through Christ. Galatians 2:21 states "I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!" (NIV). So then, who is the Master of grace? Jesus Christ is the Master of grace for if it could be gained by any other way, then Christ would have died for nothing. We move from being mastered by sin to being mastered by grace which leads us away from sin. 2 Peter 2:19 states that "people are slaves to whatever has mastered them" (NIV).

Are you a slave to sin and the devil, or a slave to freed…
